Living in the Bay of Plenty

The Bay of Plenty is famed for its lifestyle and climate with outdoor activities being enjoyed year-round.

The stunning coastline offers opportunities for swimming, surfing, boating, diving and fishing. Inland there are a range of activities including tramping, white water rafting, kayaking, hunting, snow and water skiing.

There are three main urban centres all within about an hour’s drive of each other:

  • Tauranga (population of around 131,000)
  • Rotorua (population of around 77,000)
  • Whakatāne (population of around 37,000).

The local College Faculty

All College members belong to a regional faculty offering social, learning events, and providing peer support.
