Annual membership fees

The fees below are current from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 and include GST.

Please contact the College by emailing membership@rnzcgp.org.nz if you're unclear about your membership category or want to discuss a change in circumstances.

Some fees are also subject to one or more additional levies.

Fellows

A Fellow has been assessed under the College's Fellowship regulations and is vocationally registered in the scope of general practice or rural hospital medicine.

Earning more than $60,000 per year (income from medical practice before tax)

Recertification programme on hold for 4-12 months

This must be agreed by the College prior to the hold taking place and cannot be backdated. There are no additional levies associated with this fee

Recertification programme on hold for 12+ months

This must be agreed by the College prior to the hold taking place and cannot be backdated. There are no additional levies associated with this fee.

General Practice Education Programme Registrar (GPEP1)

A GPEP1 Registrar is enrolled in the GPEP but is yet to pass the College’s examinations. GPEP1 Registrars who progress to GPEP 2, 3 or 3+ and are yet to pass their College exams are charged at Registrar (Advanced) rates.

A registrar enrolled in the RHMTP.

Registrar (Advanced) and Affiliates

Registrar (Advanced) are enrolled in the College’s GPEP programme and successfully passed the College’s examinations. An Affiliate is currently enrolled in GPEP through the PST/VEAB pathway, OR a New Zealand–registered doctor engaged in general practice, rural hospital medicine or other aligned scopes.

Advanced Competency levy - Cosmetic Medicine

Members who have a vocational registration in general practice and who have been accredited by the College as having an advanced competency in cosmetic medicine.
