Type

Continuing Medical Education

Presented by Dr Lucy O’Hagan - General Practitioner / Rata Hauora, Medical Educator, Writer.

Successful treatment involves understanding the process of clinical reasoning as well as the structure of a diagnostic consultation. It also incorporates communication skills needed to 'bring the patient with us' so that at the end we can agree on a shared understanding and plan.

This webinar will explore how these components can achieve optimum patient outcomes. The content is aimed at all primary care prescribers - including GPs, NPs, nurse prescribers, midwives, paramedics, pharmacists as well as students.

Lucy has been involved in teaching GP registrars for over 25 years. In the last four years she has worked for the RNZCGP leading a team of educators involved in creating webinars, resources and workshops around communication and consultation skills. She has also worked supporting registrars struggling with consultation structure, clinical reasoning, uncertainty and complexity.
