  • Overview of current haematologic malignancies including acute and chronic leukaemias, myeloma, lymphoma, myeloproliferative neoplasms.
  • Case management discussion on early symptom and sign recognition, and laboratory abnormalities indicating underlying malignancies.
  • Understanding abnormal blood counts with base discussion around common presentations such as lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly and abnormal lab findings including thrombocytosis, high haemoglobin and peripheral blood lymphocytosis.

Provide additional information and skills to help GPs and other primary health care practitioners to undertake initial management of presentations and referral for common blood cancers which they are likely to see in their practice.
