CQI reaccreditation module

General practices with CQI accreditation have shown their commitment to quality by driving initiatives which have improved patient outcomes, advanced health equity and the patient’s experience.

CQI accreditation operates on a three yearly cycle, the new CQI reaccreditation module is available to practices wishing to maintain their CQI accreditation status. This module has been designed to be both efficient and resource-conscious while adding value to practice teams.

Key components of the module

The reaccreditation module focuses on two key areas:

  1. CQI self-assessment: A structured reflection helps practices evaluate and strengthen their team’s capacity in CQI.
  2. Advanced CQI principles: Encourages practices to apply three CQI principles to a completed initiative to expand its impact and reach and to embed measures for ensuring sustainability of the initiative in the long term.

Why complete the module

Workforce pressures combined with several other factors have challenged general practices in recent years.  CQI can help practices by building resilience and adjusting to the current and future needs of patients and their whānau.

In the next three years, CQI will play a vital role in supporting national health priorities, including:

  1. Access: Ensuring all New Zealanders have equitable access to health services, regardless of where they live.
  2. Timeliness: Providing healthcare services promptly and efficiently.
  3. Quality: Delivering safe, accessible, and user-friendly care that continues to evolve and improve.
